Communities of Abilene Federal Credit Union - better BANKING begins with MEMBERSHIP!

Our Commitment

As a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative, CoAFCU is committed to our members. We will uphold our responsibility to actively serve all people within our field of membership and support the communities they live in. We will treat all members with respect and dignity, offering them a broad range of financial services at low cost with competitive loans rates and savings dividends. We will continually, in all facets of operations, demonstrate the value of membership in Communities of Abilene Federal Credit Union, because we believe better BANKING begins with MEMBERSHIP.

We will monitor and communicate our service to members in a meaningful way so members, potential members, legislators, regulators, and the community at large will understand and appreciate the unique role member-owned financial cooperatives play in their lives.

Throughout CoAFCU's strategic plan, we will put forth every effort to enable our members to be financially self-sufficient and successful. We will place high importance on consumer education and the teaching of financial thrift to all our members young and old.

Credit Union Movement & Cooperative Activities

CoAFCU will work to build and strengthen our credit union movement by providing financial and in-kind resources to others within the credit union community. In addition, we will participate in local, state and national activities to help build and strengthen relationships with other sectors of the national cooperative movement. We support the movement through:

  • Credit Union National Association and Texas Credit Union League membership and training.
  • Chapter of Credit Unions in Abilene membership and participation in cooperative advertising campaigns with the other credit unions in the area.
  • Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau Membership.
  • Assisting local credit unions when needed.
  • Participation and promotion of the movement at various functions at Dyess AFB and throughout the city, such as Business Expo and the Right Start Idea Fair.
